A retro Spong insulated wine cooler, circa late 1970s vintage. It's unused and comes boxed. The wine cooler (AKA Staycool and ViniCool): The clever patented design relies on the wine already being chilled, and the double glazed insulation of the holder simply maintains the chilled temperature. No ice required. It was one of those 70s gadgets that many households had. 23cm x 12.5cm (apx). Warm transparent brown with gold trim. It has a gold coat of arms each side - the logo is from the Institute of Directors, suggesting this was an unwanted gift to a Director back in the day. Made from two layers of smokey brown plastic/acrylic, the void between the two cleverly keeps your bottles at the correct temperature, or holds your ice freezing, for hours. The base of the wine cooler which reads: 'Spong ViniCool, Reg Design 991271, Pats No UK App. 2057249. Made in England'. New and unused condition, comes in its retro box, with original plastic wrap and leaflet. Perfect for a TV set, retro photoshoot, mancave, home bar or retro themed room. Very cool - please see all photos. Free UK P&P.
