An art glass large paperweight by Heljä Liukko-Sundström, a Finnish ceramics designer who mostly worked for Arabia, Finland. This is one from a series designs she produced for iittala, Finland, circa 1990s.
The large flat sided paperweight (soft triangular wedge) is printed to the reverse with the design - depicting four snowy trees. It's called 'Lumen Hiljaisuus' meaning Silence of The Snow. Signed (stamped) to the side with 'Heljä Liukko-Sundström' and it maintains its original iittala sticker to the other side. It's quite a hard piece to find.
Solid glass: 14.5 x 12 x 3.5cm. Weighty at 1.1kg.
Good condition. A couple of small surface scratches and a small nibble below the signature on the side baseline.
