An unusual 1960s or 1970s large vase by Fratelli Fanciullacci, Italy... with rare paper label. Pottery/ceramic with a very glossy dark blue glaze. Narrower base and rim with embossed 'M' like pattern all round, and a rounded middle. The blue is dark and shiny, a navy/midnight blue (when you hold it to the light it's slightly speckled). It has a rare part FF paper label to the base. I can't see any model number or further maker's marks and I can't find another vase like it! Good for the age and era with no cracks. There is a baseline chip to the terracotta clay that's hard to see (last pic). Some scratches to the glossy glaze, to the middle zone (shown). Please see all photos. Each piece was hand-painted and decorated so it is unique and may have glazing flaws. A decent sized 25.5cm tall x 9cm wide rim, 11cm widest at the middle. Would hold dozens of taller statement flower stems if used as a vase, but probably best for a collection. A classically styled bit of Italian mid century! Price includes P&P to the UK.
