A chunky Knobbly dish by Liskeard Glass, Cornwall, England.

Designed in the 1970s by Jim Dyer, brother of Harry Dyer who was designing the more famous Knobbly vases at Whitefriars Glass. (Jim did also work at Whitefriars). The bowl/ashtray bears the distinctive LG stamp on the base.

It's very thick solid glass with a thick rim. The purple inner is a vivid dark plum or aubergine tone, and it is cased in clear glass. There are two rows of oval impressed knobbles or dimples on the outer surface. Handmade/mouth blown in the 1970s.

Good condition for age and era. There are a few surface marks, mostly on the rim, but no chips. Great for display and use.

A perfect size for a tealight candle holder. 5.5cm tall x 11cm wide at widest point. Weighs 825g.
