A vintage studio pottery owl figure by Rye Pottery, Sussex. The base stamp dates it to 1957-1969, mid century modern. Rye Pottery was John Cole and Walter Cole, with Marjorie and Tarquin - this is by Walter (Wally) Cole. 
The good-sized hollow bird sculpture has been moulded from clay/pottery. He's lightly textured all over with minimal decorations, just hand drawn lines for the eyes. White to off-white glossy glaze.
Rye Pottery have since started re-issuing this owl using Wally Cole's old moulds/sculptures. So there are similar modern versions around, but this is one of the vintage originals. He's the large version, 16.5cm tall x 11cm wide x 11cm deep.
In great condition with no real signs of age. No chips or crazing. Some moulding lines. Remnants of felt pads to the base - base is stamped with the old logo.
