A vintage studio pottery cat head round money box, by Taliesin, Bude, Cornwall...
I can't find any information about Taliesin. I'm assuming this was a small studio that just produced these cat heads for a limited time. Probably 1970s-1980s vintage. Each stylised and 3D cat head is different, with different colourings and features - this one is a round head with a brown neutral wash over the pale clay, with stunning blue/black eyes with some finer details like whiskers. Probably moulded then hand painted. Hand signed to the base.  
Very good vintage and collectable condition. No chips, some blue ink staining to the base, base has some tiny imperfections. It has been played with but remains very good. Roughly a 10.5cm wide ball, 11.5cm tall.
A hard to find item made in low numbers by a Cornish clay artist.
