A striking Cristillium (aluminium based) metal vase or pot by Conrah Metal Products, Wales. Circa early 1970s vintage. This modernist anodised vase, with engraved diamond pattern, was made in Wales by Conrah. The name 'Cristillium' is also used to describe these decorative metalwares from the 1960s-1970s. The range was designed by Ronald Hughes I believe. The vases and candle holders were often cylindrical, as per this example. Cast from aluminium, they were anodised to give the colour, then cut through by machine to reveal a shiny silvery aluminium pattern beneath. This vase is an unusual very pale ice blue, it's shiny and reflective. It catches the light in a really striking reflective way. Striking yet simple Modernist British design. Simple cylinder shaped, we have a large 22.7cm x 7.5 vase. It has the original green felt base, revealing the central stamp which reads: "Conrah Product. Made in Wales". Good for age and era. It does have a few small marks - a cluster of small impact marks are shown in a photo. And a further couple of smaller marks are to the other side. I'd give it an 8/10. Free P&P to the UK.
