A striking large red, amber and turquoise art glass Murano bowl. Vintage Italian, circa mid century 1960s or 1970s era. Rounded triangular shape with three folds in (a fancy ashtray - would have been intended for resting a cigar). The colour is predominantly red with a thin layer of amber sommerso and cased in vibrant cyan/turquoise at the edges. Possibly by Barbini or Seguso, Murano, Italy.
15cm x 14cm x 7.5cm tall. Weighs a chunky 1kg. Soft folded rim is 2.5cm wide. Flat polished base with the correct signs of its age.
It's a good sized piece - great on display. Good condition with no chips - very good for the age and era. A couple of small scratches on close inspection. Good rim and clean internally, doesn't appear to have been used as an ashtray. I'd give it a very decent 8.5/10... perfect as a retro prop with a splash of colour.
