A striking unused pure blue enamelled cast-iron cooking pot or Dutch oven, by Nacco, Denmark. Model no 16 E (16cm). 'Nacco' is short for N.A. Christensen & Co., and was a Danish company that produced high-quality, enamel-coated cast iron cookware - particularly known for its casseroles and Dutch ovens - designed by Michael Lax. A versatile vintage casserole or oven cooking pot, suited to oven-to-table dishes. Stunning and simple Scandinavian Modernist design, circa 1970s to 1980s vintage. It's heavy cast iron, weighing 2.3kg. 17cm diameter pan at the rim, 22cm long with handles. 9.5cm tall without lid, 11.5cm tall with lid on. Holds just less than 2 pints - a two-person capacity. Designed to be used in the oven (untested), although this is so nice I'd keep it for display! This unused example is great for its age - enamel wears and chips very easily and this hasn't been used so has no damage inside or around the handles. The Royal blue colour is lovely and shiny, and it displays beautifully. Some patches of rust/wear to the base and baseline. P&P to the UK only.
