A retro pottery vase by Scheurich Keramik, West Germany, dating from the 1960s/1970s 'fat lava' era. This vintage art vase is predominantly black and white - the matt charcoal coloured stripes look to be wax-resist lines, with white liquid glossy raised squares. A few squares are painted red and teal. It is glossy teal inside - hard to see.

The shape is 238-14... 14 denoting 14cm tall (well, slightly taller). 9.5cm wide max. Inside rim is 5cm wide. Stamped to the base. Very good condition with no chips or cracks. Please see photos showing decor and condition - photo nine shows a natural rim flaw. The white drips, bleeding and patchy colours are deliberate and part of the charm.
