A beautiful and larger example of the tapered chimney vase, designed by Geoffrey Baxter for British firm Whitefriars, pattern number 9655. This one is the largest size - 9.25" tall (well, just over). It's cased in clear glass with a solid clear base. Mouth blown/handmade. Fairly large,heavy and chunky. Indigo colouring is circa 1965 - 1967, so from that precise era. 
This is in very good condition. It has no chips, nibbles, fleebites or water marks. A few small scratches on lose inspection. There are a couple of internal bubbles, all from time of manufacture from being handmade and mouth blown. Softened rim. The 'indigo' blue is like a smoky dusky midnight blue.
24cm x 6.4cm wide at base x 4.5cm wide at rim. Weighs 900g.
I'd give it a 9/10. A very collectable displayable example of Mid Century British glass. Beautiful simple modernist and minimalist design.
